Welcome to Pennepack Baptist Church, started in 1688. We are the oldest surviving Baptist church in Pennsylvania [you can read the amazing story behind the beginnings of Pennepack Baptist in the ‘Church History’ section of this website]. We just want to say here that it was Jesus Christ who started Pennepack Baptist and it is Jesus Christ who is still the head of the church. Through His Holy Spirit He guides and directs us which way to go.
In 2006 the Spirit led us to sell the church building we had on Bustleton Avenue and to move back to the original site of the church on Krewstown Rd. We have renovated the building that was built in 1805 [on top of other buildings dating back to 1707]. We have sought to keep the balance between ‘old’ and ‘new’, being a contemporary congregation who is serving out of a colonial, historically significant building.
The thread that keeps our three hundred and twenty five year history together is the Gospel [Good News] of Jesus Christ. It was preached and believed in by the first members of the congregation in 1688, and is preached and believed in today. We invite you to visit with us for worship any Sunday morning at 11:00am. For other church events please see the ‘Events’ section. Also visit our ‘Photo Gallery’ or 'Virtual tour' to get some more insight into who we are and what God has been doing for, in and through Pennepack Baptist.
Like all of our lives in Christ our website is a ‘work in progress’, please keep visiting us as we continue to develop it. It is our desire to add additional sections and to provide links to other sites that will enable persons to find not only information about Pennepack Baptist, but also to find resources for living healthy, growing spiritual lives.
God’s grace and peace be upon your life!
